The prevalence of cancer in my family is what led me to study different styles of exercise that would be beneficial to someone who is living with cancer. It is my greatest joy to share this knowledge with anyone who is searching for exercise that is safe, effective, and appropriate for their specific needs.
I have many years of experience working with a diverse population of students including seniors, cancer patients, and people who desire a natural approach to healing that is complementary to other traditional or alternative therapies. I am a certified teacher of Yoga, Yoga for Cancer, Qigong, and Tai Chi. I have worked with the cancer community in supportive oncology and currently in my private practice.

It was my integrative medicine supportive oncologist who connected me to Marie’s classes. She recommended that I try Marie’s Chair Yoga and Qigong classes. And I’m so glad she did. Marie is an excellent teacher. Her pacing is relaxed, and her instructions are clear. Her courses have provided me with just what I’ve needed regarding movement, breathing techniques, and relaxation as I recover from cancer/effects of chemotherapy. I continue to improve my mental and physical balance as I gain strength with each session. I always leave each of Marie’s sessions feeling encouraged and invigorated.

I have been a “Watch and Wait” cancer survivor for over 12 years and have significant arthritis in my joints. I am so thankful that I was introduced to Marie and her teaching of Qigong and Tai Chi. Over these past months, with Marie’s skillful, patient teaching, I have gained strength and resilience in body, mind, and spirit. I learn something new with each session. I also use her techniques to help with anxiety and sleep. I am so grateful that Marie continues to share her gifts and look forward to her teaching and encouragement in the future.
