Women’s health after cancer

Woman cancer survivor

WHAT IT IS

The healthcare requirements of women differ based on their stage of life. Regardless of your age and how cancer treatments have impacted your wellbeing, we have services that can help. Our healthcare practitioners offer a range of integrative services to address your specific needs.

Our women’s health services are inclusive and respect your gender identity. While we use the term “women’s health” to imply the needs of those assigned female at birth, please insert the terms that you relate to best and educate us on how you’d like to be addressed.

HOW TO TREAT IT

Women’s Cancer Support
At the After Cancer, we provide support and resources for gynecologic cancers such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, endometrial, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. Start by speaking to an integrative physician about your care, concerns, and wellness plans.

Fertility Concerns
Young women facing a cancer diagnosis often experience heightened stress regarding fertility. We recommend working with your care team before treatment to discuss available options and continuing your wellness journey after treatment. Our team of integrative physicians, therapists, and health coaches is available to address and discuss your concerns with you.

Menopause Support
Regardless of whether you entered menopause naturally or if menopause was medically induced, we’re here to support you. Explore natural and integrative options to relieve your menopausal symptoms such as weight gain, hot flashes, night sweats, joint pain, or brain fog. Consult with a health coach specializing in hormone health for personalized guidance.

Pelvic Health
Cancer treatments such as radiation or chemotherapy can often impact the muscles of the pelvic floor causing incontinence, pelvic pain, or pain during intercourse. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help to resolve these issues by strengthening the body’s core and pelvic floor. Reach out to a pelvic floor physical therapist on our team to find out how they can help.

Sexual Health and Wellness
Having a healthy sex life after cancer treatment can seem daunting. You may be experiencing both physical and emotional struggles when it comes to re-igniting your sexual desire, function, and wellbeing. Speak to a therapist, integrative physician, or health coach to start taking steps towards addressing your sexual health and wellness needs.
